MOORE HIGH SCHOOL BANDS
MARCHING BAND
Marching Band is made up of band students in the 9th through 12th grades. This ensemble performs at games, marches in several parades, and competes at several regional contests throughout the fall semester.
WIND ENSEMBLE
The Moore High School Wind Ensemble is selected by audition and is comprised of band students in grades 9-12. This group has earned multiple Superior ratings at OSSAA State Contests, and been selected as an Honor Group for the Oklahoma Music Educators Association convention. This group performs concerts in December, April, and May, as well as competing in State and regional concert contests.
SYMPHONIC BAND
The Symphonic Band rehearses 1st hour and is composed of 10-12 grade students. This band competes at OSSAA state contest as well as giving 3 concerts throughout the year.
FRESHMAN BAND
The freshman band is made up of all freshman band members and meets during 2nd hour during the 2nd semester. This ensemble performs at 3 concerts at the Fine Arts Auditorium as well as competing at State Contest.
JAZZ BAND
Our program fosters essential qualities like self-discipline, poise, self-confidence, a positive attitude, and collaborative teamwork. With a strong emphasis on performance, we explore a diverse range of pop music genres, including ballad, rock, Latin, swing, and improvisation. Admission to this program is highly competitive, with students selected from the High School Band membership. To be part of this exciting journey, students must maintain enrollment in the 1st-hour band class and successfully pass an audition.
COLOR GUARD
Performance is at the heart of what we do in color guard, and we explore a wide range of artistic elements including choreography, flag work, dance, and more. Students selected for the Color Guard Program are chosen from our talented pool of participants and must remain enrolled in their designated band or marching band class.
